Teacher of Chemistry

for its Department of International Studies
Start date: August 2025 / Workload: 80 – 100%

Responsibilities

  • Teach Chemistry to students in Grades 8 to 12 within the International Section, including Cambridge IGCSE Double award Science and IB Diploma Program (IBDP) Chemistry.
  • Serve as a Homeroom Teacher, supporting the academic and pastoral development of students (if assigned).
  • Actively contribute to the school’s vibrant extra-curricular program through leadership or participation in activities, clubs, or events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning, assessment design, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and the wider school community.

Requirements

  • University degree in Chemistry with a teaching qualification for Chemistry
  • Experience teaching IB Diploma Program (IBDP) Chemistry (essential).
  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Science (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of international education standards and inquiry-based teaching methods.
  • Swiss, EU, or EFTA citizenship is an advantage due to work permit regulations.
  • Proficiency in German is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
