The Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz is an international boarding school with a history stretching back over 120 years, located near St. Moritz in the heart of the scenic Engadin valley (Switzerland). 220 boarders from around the world and 110 local day students study at our school for the Swiss Matura, the IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP). We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Personalised Learning Coach

to join our academic team in a newly created, value-added service focused on highly personalised learning. This specialist role is designed to support students who benefit from highly differentiated strategies to thrive – whether due to unique learning profiles, advanced subject ability, or a need for greater structure and support. The Personalised Learning Coach will work across departments, in close collaboration with the school’s educational psychologists, teachers, boarding staff and families. The role combines coaching students on how to learn most effectively with guiding teachers in differentiating their practice to unlock each learner’s unique potential.

Start: August 2025
Workload: 45 hours per week, 42 weeks per year

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of students who would benefit from highly personalised learning strategies, based on assessments or identified potential.
  • Coaching students to develop their own learning skills, habits, and confidence, with a focus on both subject-specific and cross-curricular growth.
  • Advising teachers on practical, evidence-based approaches to differentiation and inclusive practice in the classroom.
  • Collaborating with boarding and academic staff to ensure consistency of support across both the whole student experience.
  • Communicating with parents to align support strategies and report on progress.
  • Helping shapes the strategic development of personalised learning within the school.

Requirements

  • A recognised qualification in education focused on differentiated or personalised learning, such as in high performance coaching, gifted & talented learning, learning support, psychology, or a related field.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing their expertise in personalised learning and differentiation for a range of learner profiles.
  • Proven ability to work across academic teams to effect change in teaching and learning.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a coaching mindset and a student-centered approach.
  • An understanding of the needs of students in a boarding school environment.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are welcome.
  • Swiss/​EU/​EFTA citizenship is a significant advantage.
