Zuoz Globe Plays: «Macbeth»
Twenty years ago, the Shakespeare Company of the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz celebrated its first premiere with MACBETH. To mark this anniversary, we are bringing this dark masterpiece back to the Zuoz Globe in a new production.
Encouraged by the promising prophecies of the witches and guided by the whisperings of his lady, the ambitious Macbeth murders the Scottish king Duncan in his sleep and seizes his throne. But his dream of power is short-lived. Tormented by guilt and delusions, Macbeth becomes entangled in a web of intrigue and betrayal. A spiral of cruel murders is set in motion, but nothing can save the self-proclaimed king and his wife from the abyss of their own souls.
