For the next production of the English Theatre Company we will once more be entering uncharted waters. For the first time, we will be staging a play written and directed entirely by a student of the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz. At the end of the last school year Jonathan Ferrari started writing an adaptation of Susan E. Hinton’s novel “The Outsiders”, which he is now in the process of rehearsing with the actors of the company.
Using his talent and compassion for the characters, Jonathan adapted the story of Ponyboy Curtis who lives a hard life, one of the poor kids called “the greasers”, trying not to get brutalised and emotionally numbed by his environment. It is a stirring plot about the meaningless rivalries and blind hatred between the members of the wealthy soc’s and the poor greasers, who in fact are not as different from each other as they think. Because at the end of the day, both are outsiders.
We are looking forward to the opening night of this thrilling new work by the English Theatre Company!
