Principles

At the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz we accept young people who are willing and able to meet the academic demands of the school and to identify with its philosophy. In order to meet its educational and pastoral obligations the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz must be in possession of all the necessary information - character, school records, family situation – relevant to the personal, academic and physical development of the student. It is vital that the person(s) responsible for the child's education are in complete agreement with our educational principles and support us in our efforts. Admission is possible into school grades 8 to 11, but not into 12th grade.

Application dossier to the English-medium IB and pre-IB programmes:

Application dossiers to the German-medium Matura and Abitur programmes:

  • Completed Registration Form with photograph
  • Curriculum vitae (on one A4 page)
  • Copies of two most recent school report cards
  • Copies of language diplomas and evidence of attendance of language courses
  • Any further evidence of achievements (sport, art, music, community service, etc.)
  • A letter of recommendation written by a class or subject teacher (German, English, Mathematics) would assist us in assessing the suitability of the candidate.
  • Transfer receipt for registration fee (CHF 1,500.–)
Dates for admission

The best time to enter the school is at the beginning of a new school year. Admission during the school year is not advisable, but is possible in certain circumstances. A place in the boarding house can only be guaranteed if registration is completed well in advance (at least six months before the desired date of admission).

Admission procedures

The admission and assessment of a student are dependent on their previous school performance, assessment or recommendation. Applications are evaluated on receipt and, as a rule, candidates are invited to attend an interview and to take pre-admission assessment tests. Candidates are subsequently informed of the school’s decision. On acceptance, candidates’ families receive a School Contract and an invoice for payment of a deposit. The enrolment becomes effective and the place at the school assured as soon as the deposit has been paid and the signed contract has been received by the school.
