Many of the weekends are inspired and led by students. Senior students are expected to lead and facilitate the activities developing the capacity to plan, negotiate, compromise and consider. And in doing so they gain invaluable leadership skills.

Occasionally Community Weekends include an aperitif and formal dinner. These dinners bring the community together in a largely formal setting. Students are encouraged to talk to members of staff and amongst themselves befitting a Formal Dinner”. During these dinners, groups of senior students help catering staff to serve; another opportunity for them to contribute towards school life and show appreciation for the house and grounds staff.

Community Weekends are great catalysts for service toward the community beyond the school and often involve student entrepreneurship. These services range from charity sales initiatives to volunteering at local events and clean-ups to helping out in retirement homes. A lot of weekends facilitate philanthropic events, raise awareness of global issues or allow students to reflect upon the ethics of their choices and actions. Community Weekends help to shape the students as the leaders of tomorrow complementing their academic endeavours in the classroom.

As activities adapt to the ever-changing seasons in the Swiss Alps, students are encouraged to expand their horizons and abilities through an assortment of opportunities and responsibilities in sports and workshops. White water rafting in mountain rapids, sailing on Lake Como, skiing in the Engadine, sports competitions as well as Engadine Art Talks or drama and design workshops on campus – students work together achieving more and striving for common goals. Each child develops the confidence to rise to challenges wherever they find themselves.
