Dr Karsten Plöger, Head of School ad interim
Dr Karsten Plöger graduated from the University of Kiel (Germany) with the Staatsexamen in History, English and Philosophy before going on to the University of Oxford to pursue his doctoral research. From 2003 to 2007 he was a Research Fellow in Late Medieval and Early Modern History at the German Historical Institute London. Having obtained his teaching qualification in Berlin, Dr Karsten Plöger joined the staff of the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz as Deputy-Head of Grosshaus and a Teacher of Ethics, History, and Politics in the school's IB and Matura/Abitur sections in February 2010. Since August 2011 Dr Karsten Plöger has been Head of International Studies at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz.
Dr Karsten Plöger has taken up the post of Acting Head of School with effect from July 2016. He also teaches History in the Matura programme.

Michael Gwerder, Deputy Head of School
Michael Gwerder studied German, English and Spanish at University of Lausanne (Licence ès lettres). This was followed by a teaching assignment in German Language, Literature and Culture at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and at University of Limerick. From 2003 to 2013 he was a teacher and Deputy Head of School at the Swiss School of Bogotá and Santiago de Chile before being apppointed Head of School at the Swiss School in Bangkok. Alongside his activities as Deputy Head of School, he optained a MSc in Educational Leadership at University of Leicester. Back in Switzerland, from 2013 to 2016, Michael Gwerder was Head of School in Giswil.
Since August 2016 Michael Gwerder has been Deputy Head of School at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz. He also teaches English in the Matura programme and German in the international department.

Peter Pasquill, Head of International Studies
Peter Pasquill has more than 20 years of experience of the International Baccalaureate at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, as IB Coordinator, Head of International Studies and as a teacher for Theory of Knowledge, English Language and Literature, English B and Global Citizenship. Mr Pasquill is also an IB examiner for English A and English B. In addition, he has also taught examination revision courses with Oxford Study Courses. Peter Pasquill, born and educated in England, worked originally as a newspaper journalist before moving to Switzerland and graduating with an MA at the University of Zurich. He subsequently obtained a diploma in education management at the Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP) Zurich. He taught for 10 years at the Kantonsschule Wettingen and was Principal of the Bell School of Languages, Zurich for 5 years. Recently, Mr Pasquill worked on an urban regeneration project in the People’s Republic of China.
In August 2016 Mr Pasquill returned to the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz to lead the international department.

Roman Grossrieder, Head of Finance and Services
After receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration Roman Grossrieder worked for various companies in the education and tourism industry and from 2005 to 2007 and 2009 to 2014 as a project manager for Grischconsulta AG in Chur. In 2011 he completed his MBA in General Management at the HTW Chur and since 2000, has repeatedly taken on teaching roles at a variety of schools and institutes.
Since March 2014 Roman Grossrieder has been Head of Finance and Services at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz.
